The Faculty of Sports and Tourism – tims., Novi Sad, was founded in 2004 as an independent institution of high education whose founders are private persons. The Faculty is a part of the “Metropolitan” University, Belgrade. The seat of the Faculty is in Radnička 30a street, Novi Sad in its own 1491 m2 premises. Currently, there are around 500 students on all three levels of studies. So far, 209 students have graduated on the bachelor studies, 36 at the master studies and 10 at the doctoral studies.
Conceived as an academic institution of high education, the Faculty of Sport and Tourism has six accredited study programmes in two areas: physical education and sport; and management and business, on all three education levels in the field of sport and two in social sciences-humanities. Curriculums are generally conceived in such a way that the bachelor studies last three years, master studies two years and doctoral studies three years.
At the study programme of physical education and sport, students can study for the following professions:
- on the bachelor level of academic education, according to the nomenclature of occupations, the following professional title is acquired: teacher of sport and physical education;
- on the master studies, the title of professor of physical education and sport - master is acquired;
- on the doctoral studies of sport, the title of doctor of physical education, sport and kinesitherapy is acquired.
At the study programme of management and business in tourism, the following professional titles are acquired:
- at the bachelor studies, the professional title of manager;
- at the master studies – graduate manager – master.
The faculty employs 39 teachers in total and 20 teacher associates (21 of the teachers and 12 associates being fully employed), as well as 9 non-teaching persons.
